The Seminary's first graduate program forms chaplains for hospitals, prisons, universities, and community settings, grounded in the Islamic tradition and prepared to serve people of every background. Admissions are not yet open.

The Program
The formation curriculum
Pastoral theology
Theological grounding for the work of spiritual care, including the theology of suffering in Islam.
Spiritual care and presence
Being fully present to another person in suffering and transition, taught as a discipline.
Crisis and trauma-informed care
Crisis intervention and trauma-informed spiritual care for the settings chaplains serve.
Interreligious competence
Chaplains serve people of every background. The program prepares for that reality.
Supervised placement
Field placement with documented hours, written reflection, and supervision.
Certification preparation
The curriculum is designed toward board certification for chaplains.

The Path
The path through the program
Foundational core
Theological grounding, contemplative formation, pastoral presence, and the ethics of care.
Specialization
Chaplaincy coursework: pastoral theology, spiritual care practice, and the contexts of service.
Supervised practicum
Field placement in hospitals, prisons, universities, or community settings, under supervision.
Certification preparation
Preparation for external chaplaincy credentialing.
